Ultrasonic Carburetor Cleaning in Merrill, WI

Ultrasonic carburetor cleaning in Merrill.

The carburetor comes off the machine and goes in a tank of cleaning solution. A high-frequency sound wave runs through that solution. The wave makes tiny bubbles, and those bubbles collapse against the metal. That is cavitation. The collapse reaches into small jets and internal passages that a spray can only wet from the outside.

We work on equipment of any age: new, old, or antique. We are not an auto shop.

Spray, soak, pick, ultrasonic

  • Spray

Reaches: The bowl and the outside of the jets.

Left behind: The idle circuit and the passages you cannot see stay varnished. It can look clean and still surge.

  • Soak

Reaches: Softens the gum you can see.

Left behind: It does not scour the small holes. Varnish stays where a brush never reaches.

  • Pick or wire

Reaches: The one jet you can see.

Left behind: Easy to damage a brass jet or push debris deeper. It misses the ports you cannot reach.

  • Ultrasonic

Reaches: Inside the jets and passages. The cleaner and collapsing bubbles get where spray does not.

Left behind: A worn needle, a bad float, or a damaged part still has to be replaced. The bath does not fix those.

When a fuel problem might be the carb

  • Hard starting
  • Poor idle
  • Surging
  • Equipment that sat with old fuel

Those symptoms can come from the carburetor. They can also come from something else. Ultrasonic cleaning does not fix every carburetor, and it does not fix every no-start.
