It starts, then dies

It catches for a few seconds, then quits. Or it runs until it gets hot and stalls.

Worth noting before you call

• Does it die with the choke on, off, or both?
• Does it run longer with the gas cap loosened? Don’t drive it that way — just note it.
• How old is the gas, and was stabilizer used?
• Did this start right after storage?

That pattern is often fuel, but we don’t quote a carb job from a text. Bring it in or we pick it up.
